The First Monsoon Rain in Gilgit

 

Introduction

There is something magical about the arrival of the first monsoon rain in Gilgit. After days of warm sunshine, the dark clouds gather over the mountains, the cool breeze begins to blow and the entire valley waits for the first raindrops.

For me, the first monsoon rain is not just a change in weather, it is a celebration of nature. It brings freshness, joy and a sense of peace that is difficult to put into words.

The Sky Begins to Change

The first sign of the monsoon is always the changing sky.

Bright blue skies slowly disappear as thick grey clouds roll over the mountain peaks. The wind becomes cooler, carrying the fresh scent of the earth.

The mountains look even more beautiful when they are wrapped in clouds, creating a breathtaking view that feels almost unreal.

When the Rain Finally Arrives

Then, the first raindrops begin to fall.

At first, they are gentle, tapping softly on rooftops, trees and fields. Within minutes, the entire village is refreshed by the rain.

The dry ground welcomes every drop and the sound of falling rain fills the peaceful valley.

It is one of my favorite moments of the year.
